August-November Update

Hellllloooooo! How are you doing? Happy Fall/Autumn/best time of the year.

It’s really been a while, hasn’t it? Our last post was August! August. Can you believe it? We have so much to catch up on! First of all, we moved.

No, I am not kidding. We moved from rainy South Florida to the beautiful (and cold) Blue Ridge Mountains in North Carolina! Before I launch into this, let’s get into the nitty gritty details of where we have been exactly.

So, August was filled with getting the house in SoFlo ready to be put on the market. That means we had to pack up most of our life. Our bulky photography equipment had to go, we had to completely stage the house, and absolutely no cooking! This was a lot to deal with but worth it. We had so many of showings! After two weeks we suddenly had an offer on the house. WHAT?!

To be totally honest with you, we hadn’t even begun looking for a place to live. So, we had to take a trip to the mountains to look for a place to rent. This was beyond stressful. Who knew it was so hard to find a 3 bedroom, 3 bath house that wasn’t two hours away from where we wanted to live? We didn’t. The day before we left, we found a house. It is perfect! So, back to Florida we went. Fast forward weeks of packing and we finally got here!

We couldn’t have picked a better time to move. We got here just in time for peak leaf season. That means I have a camera roll full of orange and red trees and no shame about it.

We also got here in time for Starbucks’s pumpkin spice latte. I can actually order it hot! In Florida, I always have to order an iced psl because if I don’t, I am sweating buckets. Buuuut the weather here is perfect for beanies and the best drink at Starbucks.

(sorry, not sorry).

Also, speaking of chilly weather, can you believe it’s going to snow here on Tuesday? I don’t think it’s going to be anything major or even stick but I haven’t seen snow in over ten years! How long has it been since you’ve seen snow? Is it something you deal with on a regular basis? If so, please give us some tips down below in the comments! Also, check us out on Instagram to be updated on the snow because we definitely will be posting about it.

Alright, alright, I’m getting off topic. We have been here in NC for only a couple weeks but (in the midst of unpacking the many, many boxes) we’ve been trying to get out and about. So far, we’ve gotten to know this Publix very well.

I’m kidding! We actually have gotten to explore a little bit. Yesterday afternoon for instance, we wandered around Downtown Blowing Rock.

And let me tell you, we found a wonderful little shop that sells fresh spices and spice blends, as well as loose leaf teas! Ummm, that is literally my heaven.

There’s also a small gardening store just a few miles down the mountain that we have fallen in love with. It has some of the cutest gardening supplies and beautiful flowers! Caylie even got to take some pictures with pumpkins before Halloween.

I can’t wait to continue exploring the mountains and all the wonderful little shops tucked in them.

Now here is the big news!

We’re moving again

Yep, you read that right. We are gonna move again. We found an amazing lot last week, and we are meeting with a builder this afternoon to get started planning out our new house! I am so excited!! If you want to be updated on this progress, let us know in the comments below.

I’m thinking this is going to be such a fun and amazing opportunity. Obviously new things are a little scary but this just feels right, ya know?

I have a few ideas on sharing how this building process is going to go.

  1. Monthly emails. Something only our awesome subscribers can find.
  2. Monthly blog posts. This will either be in its own section or maybe apart of this update format?
  3. On social media. Probably mostly on Instagram Stories and Facebook.
  4. All of the above.

Let us know what you think! All of the options above will have photos, collage ideas for certain rooms, and updates on everything.

We are going to get back to posting

Cue the confetti and fireworks!!

We will be back posting recipes in the very new future. We just gotta get a couple more boxes unpacked and then we’re ready to go! The only issue is our internet here is not the fastest. So, we’re gonna have a few hiccups but we will be posting amazing recipes on a regular basis once again.

So, keep your eyes on the blog and on our social medias to stay updated!

There is a trip in the making

Not my own. Caylie is actually taking a trip to New York City to meet up with a few of her friends towards the end of this month. I’m sure she already has photos and a video planned out in her head so, if that’s your thing, check out her Youtube Channel and Instagram page!

Would you like to see a blog post about the trip? Let us know!

This is our first time making a post like this but I have to say, it was a lot of fun! We should do this more often. It might even become a monthly thing. Who knows what the future holds?

Well, I think I know what my immediate future holds. I can hear laundry calling my name. It’s been nice catching up with you! I hope fall has been treating you well and given you lots of chances to snuggle up under covers and relax. Until next time!
