Peanut Butter Chocolate Swirl Brownies

These simple 7 ingredients extra fudge-y Peanut Butter Chocolate Swirl Brownies are just like the classic brownie you love, but with added peanut butter and swirled around into a delicious bar. A sweet, super creamy peanut butter brownie, covered entirely by a thick layer of semi-sweet chocolate brownie, then topped with even more peanut butter! Finish with flakes of salt and it’ll be everyone’s favorite. It’s SO easy to make. They call for only 7 pantry/fridge staple ingredients and all you need is a mixer. Seriously, you can’t go wrong with these brownies! They’re sweet, salty, peanut-y, extra chocolatey, and definitely addicting… It’s that extra salt on top, trust me. And the best part? These brownies are fun to make no matter your age. They are perfect treat to bring along to your next summer get-together.

About The Recipe

Is there a better combo than chocolate and peanut butter? I definitely can’t think of one. It’s a classic for a reason! Between the sweetness and richness of the chocolate, combined with the nutty/salty peanut butter…it’s so good.

Oh, and when you make it into a brownie? A seriously addicting treat that will become your new favorite summertime bake.

It’s definitely ours! We always have a lot of peanut butter in the house, as it’s one of my brothers favorite things to have with breakfast, so we decided to try incorporating it into one of our favorite treats.

Not to mention these brownies are super cute! Swirling the peanut butter and chocolate brownie batters make for an adorable sweet treat, it equals as a great way to get the perfect bite of both! When you finish them with some salt, I swear it’s the most delicious thing you’ll eat all week.

Equipment Needed

Ingredients

  • Peanut Butter
  • Chocolate Chips
  • Butter
  • Eggs
  • Sugar
  • Vanilla
  • All-Purpose Flour

Instructions

In two separate bowls, combine the butter and peanut butter and then the chocolate chips and butter. Melt both (one at a time) at 30 second intervals until smooth. Make sure to stir after every 30 seconds! Set aside.

Combine eggs, sugar, and vanilla in a mixer bowl. Beat on high for 10 minutes. It should be very light and fluffy, and double in size.

Slowly stir in the flour.

Spoon half of the batter into the peanut butter mixture and then the other half of the batter into the chocolate mixture. Gently fold the batter into both mixtures until thoroughly combined.

Now, spoon half the peanut butter batter into a greased 9 inch cake pan and spread it so it’s level. Add the entire chocolate batter on top of the peanut butter layer, spreading it until it’s level. Dollop the rest of the peanut butter batter onto the chocolate layer. Swirl using a dull knife or something similar.

Bake at 275 for an hour and ten minutes, or until puffy and tests done.

Let cool in the pan before turning out and serving!

How To Store

Okay – Who doesn’t love a good brownie? But, this recipe makes 16 brownies and I’m pretty sure there’s gonna be some extras! After these have cooled, you can store them in a large sealable bag and keep them in the fridge or freezer!

Substitutions

  • You can use crunchy peanut butter instead of creamy for an extra added crunch in the brownies!
  • You can use milk chocolate instead of semi-sweet.

Expert Tips

  • The flaked salt on top is totally optional, but definitely delicious!
  • Don’t push the knife all the way down when swirling the chocolate and the peanut butter. Just about halfway through.
  • You may need to cover the brownies while baking to keep from over browning.

Ingredients
 

  • 1 cup creamy peanut butter
  • 7 Tablespoons salted butter, softened
  • 10 ounces semi-sweet chocolate
  • 7 Tablespoons salted butter
  • 5 large eggs
  • cups sugar
  • 1 Tablespoon vanilla
  • cups flour

Instructions
 

  • Heat oven to 275 degrees.
  • Spray a 9-inch square pan with baking spray. Set aside.
  • In a medium bowl, combine 7 Tablespoons of the butter with the peanut butter.
  • Microwave in 30 second intervals, stirring after each, until melted and creamy. Set aside.
  • Place chocolate and remaining butter in a medium bowl and microwave in 30 second intervals, stirring after each, until melted .
  • Stir until smooth and combined completely. Set aside.
  • In the bowl of a stand mixer, combine eggs, sugar, and vanilla.
  • Beat at high speed for 10 minutes.
  • Reduce speed to low and stir in flour.
  • Pour half of batter into the peanut butter mixture and half into the chocolate mixture.
  • Stir each until thoroughly combined.
  • Spread half of peanut butter mixture in bottom of prepared pan.
  • Top with all of chocolate mixture.
  • Spoon remaining peanut butter mixture in randomly spaced dollops on top of chocolate mixture.
  • Use a knife (or something similar) to swirl the peanut butter with the chocolate.
  • Bake until puffy and cooked through, about 1 hour and 10 minutes.
