A true southern classic! This Pecan Pie is perfectly sweet, nutty, buttery, and just SO. GOOD. It's the perfect pie to serve during Thanksgiving and Christmas.

Ingredients

  • 1 unbaked pie crust
  • 2 cups pecan halves
  • 4 large eggs, room temperature
  • 1 cup brown sugar, firmly packed
  • 1 ¼ cups light corn syrup
  • 4 Tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • ¾ teaspoon salt

Instructions

  • Heat oven to 375 degrees F.
  • Place pecans in bottom of unbaked pie shell.
  • In a small bowl, whisk eggs together. Set aside.
  • Combine sugar and corn syrup.
  • Stir together.
  • Add butter, vanilla, and salt.
  • Mix well.
  • Gently stir in eggs, being careful not to incorporate air.
  • Pour over pecans.
  • Bake for 10 minutes.
  • Reduce heat to 325 degrees F.
  • Continue baking for an additional 55-60 minutes, until puffy and set. You may need to cover with foil for the last 20-25 minutes of baking.

Notes

  • Let the pie cool completely before serving!
  • Cover the pie with tinfoil the last 20-25 minutes to keep the crust from over-browning.
  • You can use homemade or store-bought pie crust.
  • The pie will puff when done and will jiggle slightly.
