The perfect cookie for the holiday's! These Christmas M&M Sugar Cookies are soft, chocolate-y, and perfectly sweet. Whether you're looking for cookies for a Christmas party or some to bake for Santa, I guarantee these cookies will be everyone's favorite!

Ingredients

  • 1 ½ cups all purpose flour
  • ½ teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 large egg, room temperature
  • 1 ½ Tablespoons milk
  • ¾ teaspoon vanilla
  • ½ cup salted butter, room temperature
  • 7 Tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 1 cup M&M's

Instructions

  • Heat oven to 350 degrees F.
  • Line 2 sheet pans with parchment paper. Set aside.
  • With an electric mixer, beat butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  • Add egg.
  • Beat until combined.
  • Mix in milk and vanilla.
  • Stir in flour and baking powder.
  • Fold in M&M's.
  • Use a 2" cookie scoop to portion dough onto prepared sheet pans.
  • Flatten dough slightly.
  • Bake for 12 minutes, or until just starting to brown around the edges.

Notes

  • Be sure to beat the butter and sugar until very pale and fluffy!
  • These cookies taste great while still slightly warm.
  • Check the expiration date on your baking powder.
  • When the egg, milk, and vanilla is added to the butter mixture, it may curdle. This is okay! Just keep beating until it comes back together and is light and fluffy about. This takes about 1-2 minutes on high speed of an electric mixer.
  • Use any color M&M's you like!
