Chocolate Ganache Filled Puff Pastry Christmas Tree Tear and Share

Chocolate-y, flakey, and oh so delicious! This Chocolate Ganache Filled Puff Pastry Christmas Tree Tear and Share is the perfect easy and quick treat to bake for all of your holiday party needs.

Ingredients

Tear and Share

  • 1 sheet puff pastry dough
  • ¼ cup bittersweet chocolate pieces
  • ¼ cup heavy cream + extra to brush pastry

Topping

Instructions

Ganache

  • Combine chocolate and cream in a small microwavable bowl.
  • Microwave in 15 second bursts, stirring after each, until melted and creamy.
  • Cover with plastic wrap, making sure it touches the ganache.
  • Refrigerate until cool.

Topping

  • In a small bowl, mix together sugar and cinnamon. Set aside.

Putting It Together

  • Heat oven to 400℉.
  • Place puff pastry sheet on parchment paper.
  • Cut puff pastry sheet in half.
  • Place one half on second piece of parchment paper, leaving the other half on your first piece parchment paper.
  • Roll each half into an 8 inch x 12 inch rectangle.
  • Spread one half with the cooled ganache.
  • Top with the other half of puff pastry.
  • Brush top with cream.
  • Sprinkle with cinnamon sugar.
  • Cut into large triangle.
  • Cut out bottom for tree trunk.
  • Remove excess.
  • Cut ½-inch strips into either side of tree, leaving 1-inch in the middle intact.
  • Twist strips.
  • Place on sheet pan.
  • Freeze for 15 minutes.
  • Bake for 15-20 minutes, until golden brown.

Notes

  • You can make the ganache up to a day in advance. Just cover and leave in the fridge!
  • The cinnamon and sugar topping is optional, but HIGHLY recommended.

  • Milk chocolate can be used instead of bittersweet, if desired.
  • You can use mini cookie cutters to cut bite sized chocolate filled puff pastry bites!! Feel free to also bake the excess to snack on!
  • Do NOT skip the freezing period. This is what helps the pastry bake properly!
