Homemade Chocolate Sauce

Easy, simple, extra chocolate-y and SO delicious! This Homemade Chocolate Sauce is so much better than anything you can buy and it's the perfect addition to all your favorite desserts.
⅛ cup cocoa powder 1 cup chocolate pieces ½ cup sugar ¼ cup water ½ cup heavy cream 4 teaspoons corn syrup
Put cocoa powder in a small bowl. Set aside.
Put chocolate chips in a medium bowl. Set aside.
Combine sugar and water in a small saucepan.
Cook, stirring constantly, until sugar has dissolved.
Pour over cocoa powder.
Whisk together. Set aside.
In a small saucepan, heat heavy cream and corn syrup until it is just starting to bubble around the edges.
Pour over chocolate pieces. Let stand for 2 minutes.
Stir together using a spatula or a wooden spoon.
Stir in bloomed cocoa powder.
Make sure you let the chocolate stand for at least 2 minutes in the heated cream.
Don't whisk the chocolate and cream mixture! Only use a rubber spatula or wooden spoon to stir them together.
Don't overcook the simple syrup!
This recipe will thicken in the refrigerator. If you would like a thinner consistency, heat it in the microwave for a few seconds.
Use a high quality semisweet chocolate for this recipe. Anything darker may make this recipe too bitter. Anything sweeter might be too sweet.
This sauce also works as a dip for fruits!
