Simple, easy, and absolutely delicious! This guacamole is the only dip recipe you'll ever need.

Ingredients

  • 2 medium avocados
  • ¼ cup chopped cilantro
  • ¼ cup chopped red onion
  • 1 small lime juiced
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  • Slice the avocado's in half, remove the seeds and skin. Place in a molcajete with lime juice.
  • Mash avocado until smooth.
  • Add cilantro, red onion, salt, and pepper. Stir until well combined.

Notes

  • Use fresh everything! I promise this will make the dip so much better than anything you could buy.
  • Make sure your avocado is ripe! You can tell by the dark brown exterior and when applying just a little pressure, the avocado should give slightly. Don't press too hard! If the avocado doesn't give with just a little pressure, then it's probably not ripe yet.
  • To get the most juice out of your lime, place the lime under the palm of your hand and roll it onto the counter while applying pressure.
  • You don't need a citrus juicer to extract the juice from the lime. You can actually use a fork if you twist it and squeeze the like slightly at the same time.
  • That being said, you also don't need a molcajete. It makes things easier but you can use a potato masher or a fork.
  • Don't panic if you can't get all the stems off the leaves! A lot of the cilantro flavor actually comes from the stems.
  • Speaking of cilantro, 1 cup of cilantro leaves are equal to 1/4 cup chopped.
