Not only are they super simple to make, they are a definite crowd pleaser.
Actually, this recipe has been baked and enjoyed for 30 years! So, when we say it’s the ultimate chocolate chip cookie recipe, we mean it! When they are fresh out of the oven, they are soft, ultra chocolate-y, just enough cookie to hold it together, and perfect to dunk in a glass of milk.
Once they are cooled though, they are even better! They’ll even hold up to ice cream.
I can remember my mom making ice cream sandwiches from this recipe. It was SO good.
She would even just bring the cookies to school to feed the whole class. Everyone would ask for the recipe!
I mean, who doesn’t love an ultra chocolate-y cookie? I know I do!

Equipment Neeeded
- A Mixer
- Baking Sheets
- Parchment Paper
- Mixing Bowls
Ingredients
- All-Purpose Flour
- Baking Powder
- Salt
- Unsalted Butter
- Brown Sugar
- Granulated Sugar
- Eggs
- Vanilla
- Chocolate Chips
Instructions
In a medium sized bowl, whisk together the flour, salt, and baking powder. Set aside.
In a mixer bowl with the beater attachment, beat the butter and both sugars until the mixture is light and fluffy.
Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
Stir in the vanilla.
Add the flour mixture in small amounts, stirring well after each addition.
Stir in the chocolate chips.
Now, using a medium-large cookie scoop, spoon out cookies onto a lined baking sheet. Gently press down each cookie and bake at 375 for about 10-15 minutes, or until cookies are lightly browned.

How To Store
You can keep these cookies in an airtight container or sealable bag on the counter for about 5-7 days before they go stale. You could also freeze them to give them a longer shelf life!

Chocolate Chip Cookies are about as diverse of a dessert/snack as you can get! From making ice cream sandwiches, milkshakes, crumbling them into brownies… The possibiltles are pretty much limitless!
Substitutions
- No chocolate chips? No problem! You can chop up a chocolate bar and have the same thing.
- If you don’t have unsalted butter, you can use salted. Just forgo adding the salt.

- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup unsalted butter,, softened
- ¾ cup brown sugar
- ¼ cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs,, room temperature
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 18 ounces chocolate chips
Instructions
- Heat oven to 375° F.
- Line sheet pans with parchment and spray lightly with cooking spray. Set aside.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt together. Set aside.
- With an electric mixer, beat butter and sugars until light and fluffy, about 2-3 minutes.
- Beat in eggs, one at a time.
- Add vanilla.
- Add flour mixture, a little at a time, stirring until combined.
- Stir in chocolate chips.
- Drop dough with cookie scoop onto prepared pans.
- Flatten slightly.
- Bake 10-12 minutes, until lightly browned.
- Remove cookies from baking sheets and place on cooling rack to cool.
