Chocolate Chip Scones

Tender and absolutely delicious! These scones are the perfect breakfast or dessert.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • teaspoon salt
  • ¼ cup sugar
  • ½ cup unsalted butter
  • 2 large eggs
  • ¾ cup heavy cream
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 cup chocolate chips

Instructions

  • Heat oven to 400 degrees.
  • Mix eggs, heavy cream, and vanilla. Set aside.
  • Whisk together flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar.
  • Grate in butter.
  • Toss lightly with flour mixture.
  • Gently mix in chocolate chips.
  • Add cream mixture and fold gently into flour mixture (just enough to dampen dry ingredients).
  • Turn dough out on a heavily floured surface, sprinkle the top with flour, and roll out in a circle.
  • Cut into eight wedges.
  • With a pastry brush, brush off any excess flour on your scones.
  • Set scones on a parchment-lined baking pan and bake for 20 minutes or until light golden color.
