Ingredients

  • 2 cups pumpkin purée
  • ¾ cup granulated sugar
  • 6 Tablespoons brown sugar
  • ¼ cup apple cider
  • ¼ cup boiled cider
  • 1 Tablespoon pumpkin pie spice

Instructions

  • Combine all ingredients in a medium saucepan.
  • Cook over medium low heat for 25 minutes, stirring continually.

Notes

  • 2 cups of pumpkin purée equals a 15 ounce can.
  • If you don't have/don't want to make boiled cider, just use ½ cup of apple cider.
  • Be sure you stir this constantly! You don't want it to burn.
  • The mixture will be thick when you first stir it together. Cooking it really doesn't change the consistency that much, but it really helps meld all the flavors together.
  • This recipe is vegan and gluten-free!
