Ingredients

  • 1 ½ ounces brandy
  • 1 ½ ounces orange liqueur
  • 3 ounces fresh orange juice
  • 2-3 ounces champagne
  • 1 cube sugar

Instructions

  • In a champagne flute or saucer, combine brandy and orange liqueur.
  • Stir in orange juice.
  • Top off with champagne.
  • Add sugar cube.

Notes

Substitutions:
  • You can use store-bought orange juice rather than fresh. Omit sugar cube.
  • If you don't have brandy, you can use bourbon or dark rum. If rum is used, the drink may be a little more bitter.
  • If you can't find sugar cubes, 1 teaspoon of simple syrup can be used in its place.
  • Blood orange can be used instead of a regular naval orange.

Expert Tips:
  • Do not make these drinks before you're ready to serve. The champagne will go flat.
  • We used a brut champagne for this recipe.
  • One jigger is equal to 1 ½ ounces.
