Are there 4 better words than “giant peanut butter cup”?
With Halloween fast approaching, I’ve been reminiscing about all the fun I used to have trick or treating! One of my favorite candies to get was always peanut butter cups. Though, they were always the minis and found always wishing they were bigger.
So, today…we are fulfilling that childhood dream! A full 9 inches of rich dark chocolate and nutty peanut butter filling 🤤

Grab These Ingredients
The best part about homemade Reese’s is that you only need a few simple ingredients. Oh, and there’s no need to turn on the oven! This no bake peanut butter cup requires only minutes of prep time and about 30 minutes of chill time.
- Chocolate: There is a lot of chocolate in this peanut butter cup, so make sure you’re using a high quality chocolate that you like the flavor of. We used bittersweet Ghirardelli chocolate. Depending on your preference, you can use milk or dark chocolate.
- Vegetable Oil: This low flavored oil helps the chocolate melt evenly. It also helps keep the chocolate soft enough to cut and enjoy after setting!
- Peanut Butter: We recommend using a creamy peanut butter like Jiff or Peter Pan! Do not use a natural peanut butter for this recipe.
- Butter: You’ll melt the butte with the peanut butter to create that extra luscious peanut butter filling that tastes exactly like (if not better than) a real Reese’s.
- Powdered Sugar: Powdered sugar will thicken and sweeten the filling!
- Salt: A hint of salt goes a long way and will really enhance the flavors in this peanut butter cup!

Tips For Making A GIANT Peanut Butter Cup
Making this giant peanut butter cup is so much FUN! It’s easy, takes only a few minutes, and if you follow these tricks, you’ll produce the perfect reese’s every time.
- Line AND grease your pan: This is essential for recipe success. By lining the bottom and lightly greasing the sides, the peanut butter cup will release every time.
- Use high quality chocolate: I said this before, but I’ll say it again…Using high quality chocolate is truly so important. 50% of this treat is chocolate! So, you know you need something good. We recommend using high quality chocolate chips or a high quality chocolate bar like Ghiradelli, Guittard, or Callebaut.
- Do not overheat the chocolate: Melting chocolate can be finicky, especially if you’re attempting to temper it. It’s always best to go slow and stir often!
- Don’t forget the oil: The vegetable oil will make serving a breeze! A tablespoon of oil per cup of chocolate will soften your chocolate just enough to make slicing effortless, but not enough that it makes the chocolate lose its shape.
