Bark is a deliciously easy way to create your ideal candy bar. With the combination of melted chocolate and your favorite toppings like candy (candy corn halloween bark, anyone?!), dried fruit, nuts, + SO MUCH MORE! You can genuinely create your very own unique chocolate candy that’s just as fun to make as it is to eat!
You Only Need 3 Ingredients
- White Chocolate: You will need one full pound of white chocolate for this recipe! It’s a dessert that’s made to be shared (or not 😉).
- Oreos: Whether you use homemade or store-bought, oreos are what make this dessert extra delicious! If you’re needing a gluten-free treat, grab some gluten free oreos and you’ll be good to go!
- Sprinkles: To make this bark Halloween themed, I found a few spooky sprinkles leftover in the pantry! I used candy eyes, tombstones, ghosts, bats, and spiders to add an eerie vibe (as well as a delightful crunch!) to every bite.
To help your white chocolate melt more evenly, try adding a splash of vegetable oil. You can also use coconut oil to add a little flavor!

WANT MORE CHOCOLATE? TRY THIS: Instead of just using white chocolate, try mixing it up and doing a layer of semi-sweet or dark chocolate on the bottom with white chocolate on top, just like we do in our favorite peppermint bark recipe. You can even swirl the two together!
The Best White Chocolate To Use For Bark Candy
Because it’s the main component here, it’s important to use a high quality white chocolate. Morsels are fabulous in recipes like pumpkin snickerdoodles, but not great for making candy bark. The morsels contain stabilizers, which keeps them from melting.
And while candy melts are great for coating animal crackers, you will really taste the difference between chocolate and candy melts in this recipe.
We recommend using Ghirardelli’s white chocolate baking bars, which can be found in the baking aisle of most grocery stores. Typically, the chocolate comes in 4 oz bars, which means you will need 4 full bars to make this recipe.
Oh, and just like the number of ingredients needed, there’s really only 3 steps to this recipe! It’s such a quick, easy, and simple treat to whip up at the last minute. Below, i’ve written a quick guide on how to make this bark.
- Melt the chocolate. I prefer to melt chocolate in the microwave, as I find it to be the quicker and easier method. Though, if desired, you can use the bain-marie method (this requires a small pot of boiling water and a heatproof glass bowl).
- Spread onto prepared pan. Grab a rubber spatula or an offset spatula to spread the white chocolate. Try and get it as level/even as you can!
- Add toppings. Now, the fun part! Top with chopped oreos and your spooky halloween sprinkles. Place the pan in the refrigerator for just 10–15 minutes to set.
